I’m not like, world’s hugest Frank Stella fan, but I couldn’t possibly not mention this exhibit! The de Young museum is showing a Frank Stella retrospective, and his late 60s geometric pieces I’ve always enjoyed. Planning to head over tomorrow or next weekend, and perhaps I’ll report back.

My coworker invited me to this opening on Facebook. Sadly, I’m extremely bad at Facebook, and didn’t catch it in time, but WHOA. I swung by Hashimoto Contemporary today, and was utterly blown away by 1010‘s pieces. They’re beautiful and completely transporting. The show’s only up for a month but you pretty much have to go see.

This one’s particularly magical. It’s been up for a while now, and only has a month and a half left before it closes, but you still need to go. TeamLab‘s first major exhibit in the USA, at Pace Art + Technology. Bigger than a gallery, smaller than a museum, you can easily spend half a day here.
My favorite piece in the show? Crows are Chased and the Chasing Crows are Destined to be Chased as Well, Division in Perspective – Light in Dark

A fifteen year retrospective of bitforms? Here in SF? I’m way too lucky. Anyone up for popping by the reception with me? There’ll be work by Jeffrey Blondes, Daniel Canogar, R. Luke DuBois, Claudia Hart, Yael Kanarek, Beryl Korot, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Sara Ludy, Manfred Mohr, Jonathan Monaghan, Mark Napier, Tristan Perich, Quayola, Casey Reas, Daniel Rozin, Björn Schülke, Siebren Versteeg, Addie Wagenknecht, Marina Zurkow, and Zimoun. I’m not sure how this happened, but you should take some time to visit the Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco CA, USA to see the show.

I’m so thrilled that this opened near me. I’ve gone to visit Tom’s space program probably 10-15 times since the show opened, and there’s so much to take in.
Anyhow, dry details follow. SPACE PROGRAM: EUROPA is showing at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco CA, USA. Not only do you need to go, but if you’re planning a trip, hit me up. I’d love to be your guide, and I’m happy to send you some pre–requisite videos.
